Bringing the finest of the desert to your table, one grower at a time.
Desert & Co started with a simple frustration: the dates and nuts sold in most stores are months old by the time they reach you, stripped of the caramel softness and depth that make a Medjool or an Ajwa date worth seeking out in the first place.
So we built a marketplace that connects growers directly to your door. Every vendor on Desert & Co is verified before their store goes live — from date farms in the Jordan Valley and the oases of Madinah, to Mamra almond and pistachio growers in Iran, to walnut orchards in Kashmir. No middlemen, no months in a warehouse.
What you get is fruit and nuts closer to how they taste at the source — and a platform where independent growers and small vendors can reach customers across India without needing their own storefront.
Vision
We want India to buy dates, nuts and saffron the way it increasingly buys coffee and honey — knowing which farm or family it came from, not just a generic supermarket shelf label.
Mission
Every process decision on Desert & Co — vendor verification, packing, shipping partners — is chosen to shorten that gap, because freshness is the one thing a warehouse full of stock can’t fake.
Three steps, in order — this is genuinely the sequence every order follows, not a marketing flourish.
01Medjool and Ajwa palms in the Jordan Valley and Madinah, Mamra almonds and pistachios from Iran, walnuts from Kashmir — each vendor farms or sources within their own region, not through a chain of traders.
02Every vendor is verified before their store goes live. Batches are hand-sorted for size and quality before they're ever listed — what you see in a product photo is the grade you receive.
03Airtight packing suited to each product's shelf life — dates and nuts don't travel the same way saffron does — so freshness holds up over the trip across India, not just at the farm gate.
Curious where dates actually come from?
We wrote up how dates have been used across Arabian history and what’s genuinely well-supported about their nutrition — no exaggerated superfood claims.
