The Ramadan & Eid Gifting Guide
Desert & Co · 1 September 2026

Dates and nuts are one of the few gifts that work for almost everyone on your list — they're not perishable in the way fresh food is, they photograph beautifully, and they carry real cultural meaning during Ramadan and Eid.
For close family: a full hamper does the most work with the least thought. Our Sultan's Gift Hamper combines Ajwa dates, Mamra almonds, pistachios and saffron bites in a finished wooden box — it reads as a considered gift, not a last-minute one.
For colleagues or acquaintances: a single box of Medjool or Safawi dates is generous without being excessive, and works whether or not the recipient observes Ramadan.
For hosting iftar: buy a bit more than you think you need. Dates disappear fast at the table, and having a bowl of Ajwa or Safawi out for guests to break their fast with is a small gesture that's noticed.
Timing tip: order at least a week before Eid — the days immediately before it are when shipping across India is slowest, simply because everyone else is ordering at the same time.
Budget-friendly option: a small box of Chocolate-Stuffed Dates or Saffron-Infused Date Bites makes a genuinely nice gift for under ₹1,200, without feeling like an afterthought.
