Keep threads in their original airtight container, away from light and heat — not near the stove.

• A little goes a long way — a few threads are enough to colour and flavour a full pot of rice
• Traditionally used in Persian and South Asian cooking for both flavour and aroma
• Naturally caffeine-free, unlike some other flavour boosters

• Soak 4-5 threads in warm milk or water for 10 minutes before adding to biryani or kheer
• Add to warm milk before bed as a traditional wind-down drink
• Finish a dessert with a few threads for colour and aroma
